The Mangalitsa is a rare “Old-World” Hungarian breed known for its curly, woolly coat and exceptional gourmet meat. Prized by chefs and food enthusiasts, its red meat is highly marbled, rich in flavor, and often compared to Wagyu beef for its tenderness and depth of taste. Unlike modern commercial breeds who are harvested at six months, Mangalitsas grow slowly, taking up to 18–24 months to fully mature, which enhances the quality of their meat and fat. Originally bred for their lard-rich composition, they produce premium fat that is both flavorful and healthier, with a high percentage of Omega-3 & Omega-6 unsaturated fats.
We also raise Mangalitsa X British Heritage crossbreeds. This combination produces high quality pork with less fat than a true Mangalitsa.
